This one day course covers a comprehensive range of topics to prepare participants to administer emergency first aid care. Participants will learn the up to date protocols in dealing with everyday injuries and illnesses.
With major emphasis on dealing with accidents that happen in the workplace of home. This unique course will give you the skills to deal with all first aid and medical emergencies that can occur. Following successful completion of the course participants will be awarded an “Emergency First Aid” certificate which is valid for 2 years.
This comprehensive one-day course is particularly suited to anyone who is likely to have to respond to emergencies in the home, workplace or in the community. This emergency first aid course will also enable participants to act as a back up to First Aid Responders in the workplace. Participants will gain the necessary theoretical knowledge and learn a range of practical basic first aid skills enabling them to deal competently and confidently with common injuries and illnesses.
Included in the training are the basic techniques of cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), the use of an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) and the action to take in the event of choking for children. During the resuscitation training we use a ratio of 1:3 (1 manikin for every three participants) this gives you the maximum hands-on practical training and affords the best hygiene standards.
Our approach to training incorporates both practical and interactive learning, giving participants the confidence and ability to put theory into practice and to cope with real-life situations that may arise in the workplace, home or community. Both the theoretical knowledge and practical skills of the participants are continually assessed by the instructor throughout the course. Our instructors have years of practical experience in front line emergency care and tutoring all levels of learners.
There is no exam or assessment with this course but full participation is required to receive certification.
